  2. Adult, Child and Infant First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

    November 19, 2019, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM @ Public Health

    If someone stops breathing or their heart stops beating, immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can provide life-saving help until medical professionals arrive. To spread the knowledge for proper procedure, the Department of Public Health teaches certification in adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid, as well as instruction in the usage of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Upon successful completion of this one-day training, participants will receive an American Red Cross certification that is valid for up to two years. Class is limited to the first 20 registered participants.

  5. MRC Membership Meeting and Training

    In times of need, many lend their neighbors a helping hand. St. Charles County's Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer-based unit or medically trained and non-medical professionals alike who put their knowledge and skills to use in helping our community. The Department of Public Health sponsors the local MRC unit. Monthly meetings are designed to prepare members for all-hazard emergencies. Discussions include the various roles within the County's emergency response plan, hands-on training opportunities and advanced certifications. Membership is open to any individual, ages 18 or older.

  6. Basic Sanitation Certification Class

    Designed for owners, managers and employees of area food service providers, these classes will provide sanitation instruction for all food handlers. Anyone preparing, serving, transporting, warehousing, stocking or handling food in any manner should complete this course. Participants must earn a score of 70 or higher on a 50-question final examination to become certified.
    Please recognize that this class may be canceled or rescheduled if there is insufficient enrollment.

  8. Health Dept - Thanksgiving Day Holiday (Observed)

    The St. Charles County Department of Public Health will close for the County observed holiday. This includes all services provided at the department offices at 1650 Boones Lick Road in St. Charles, the Pet Adoption Center/Division of Humane Services at 4850 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters, Recycle Works Central at 60 Triad South Drive in St. Charles, and Recycle Works West at 2110 East Pitman Avenue in Wentzville.

  9. Pet Food Pantry

    Qualifying pet owners will receive dry dog or cat food on a first-come, first-served basis.

    To qualify, pet owners must:

    • Register in advance by calling 636-949-7387 and present identification proving St. Charles County residency
    • Show proof of need
    • Show proof of current rabies vaccination for each animal covered or update the animal's shot record at the time of registration.
    • Show proof that the animal is altered or make arrangements to do so at the time of registration.
    • Bring a container large enough to carry at least three pounds of food.
