St. Charles County, Missouri – Celebrate the arrival of spring with St. Charles County Parks’ first ever Family Hike and Campfire from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Broemmelsiek Park near Defiance. Springtime is the perfect season to explore the park, listen for sounds of animals in the woods and discover native flora along the way. This is free family fun, but registration is required.

Get your family together and take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life at Broemmelsiek Park for an evening hike and talk around the campfire. Meet at Shelter #7 in the park. We’ll take a short hike, roast marshmallows, make s’mores, learn a few campfire tunes and tell a funny story or two.

Broemmelsiek Park is located at 1795 Highway DD near Defiance. The program is free, but registration is required by calling the parks department at 636-949-7535 or signing up online at http://bit.ly/2oldWa6.

To learn about upcoming programs, camps, special events, classes, and hands-on activities planned in a park near you, check out our first edition of the 2018 St. Charles County Park Activity Guide at www.stccparks.org. The guide features programs from January through April and is the first of three to be published this year.
