St. Charles County, Missouri — Applicants now are being accepted to fill 40 summer youth jobs administered through the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County. These temporary jobs are funded through a federal and state program known as the “Summer Job League 2017” that begins July 1 and runs through October 31.

Participants must be between 16 and 24 years of age, a resident of St. Charles County, and have a gross monthly family income not above 185 percent of the Federal Poverty guidelines. This is an approximate gross monthly income ranging from $1,832 for a family of one up to $4,385 for a family of four. Applicants also must be able to pass a drug test and have reliable transportation.

These temporary positions could be full- or part-time and pay $8.50 an hour for a maximum of 240 hours. Some of the jobs now available in this program are with parks departments, animal shelters, day care facilities, retailers, restaurants and more.

“This is a great way for eligible young people to earn about $2,000 over the next few months while they gain important workplace experience and skills,” said Scott J. Drachnik, Executive Director of the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County.

For more information, interested youth applicants can visit the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County at 212 Turner Boulevard in St. Peters, or can call 636-255-6060, ext. 5251.
