St. Charles County, Missouri – Beginning Monday, April 17, 2017, the St. Charles County Highway Department will close the South Shore Road bridge immediately east of Harbor Grove Drive and 0.4 miles west of Seeburger Road to allow for removal and replacement of the deteriorating bridge. The new bridge will include wider lanes, shoulders, improved drainage and an improved safety guardrail.
Traffic will be required to use a detour route around the closure for approximately three months while the bridge is constructed. Local traffic can access either side of the closure location, but no through traffic will be permitted. Motorists can access South Shore Road using Seeburger Road to State Highway B to Huster Road. Signage and message boards will notify motorists of detours, closings and reopening dates. Completion of the project is expected in summer 2017.
This road project is part of a continuing effort by St. Charles County Government to improve the County’s road system for the safety of the traveling public. For more information about road projects underway in unincorporated St. Charles County, please call the Highway Department at 636-949-7305 or visit http://www.sccmo.org/Road-Projects.
