St. Charles County, Missouri- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar is pleased to announce our newest staff member Sully, a CHAMP therapy dog. He is a two year old Golden Retriever that will provide assistance to victims in court, most especially child victims of sexual, emotional and/or physical abuse. Sully comes to work each day and resides with our Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Rebecca Shaffar.

CHAMP (Canine Helpers Allow More Possibilities) Assistance Dogs, aka CHAMP Assistance Dogs, Inc., is a nonprofit organization which places skilled service dogs with people who have disabilities to help them lead lives of greater independence, and places facility dogs with professionals who utilize their dogs' special skills in healthcare facilities, courthouses, and children’s advocacy centers.

CHAMP also provides our community with an education program, therapy dog teams, a puppy-raising program in St Louis, MO, a puppy-raising program in Columbia, MO, and an assistance dog training program at a Missouri Department of Corrections women's prison.

“We are pleased to work with CHAMP and welcome Sully to our team to provide comfort to our child victims during the often intimidating process of testifying in court.”
