St. Charles County, Missouri - The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that Gina Grzeskowiak, 39, of St. Peters was sentenced to the Missouri Department of Corrections by the Honorable Ted House. A jury, in March of this year, returned a guilty verdict for three counts of felony abuse or neglect of a child and one count of felony endangering the welfare of a child. The Judge sentenced Grzekowiak to 10 years for each count and ran all four counts concurrent. Grzekowiak, under statute RSMo. 217.362, will be afforded institutional long term treatment.

The charges originated with incidents occurring in June and July 2013. One of the children in Grzeskowiak's care sustained injuries on July 17, 2013 when she threw a can of infant formula at her child. When St. Peters Police Department officers located Grzeskowiak, the child was found with additional injuries that Grzeskowiak inflicted. A five month old infant was also seen inside the vehicle in a car seat without any seatbelts.

Grzeskowiak was charged as a prior and persistent offender. She has previous convictions in Lincoln County for felony endangering the welfare of a child and forgery.
