Feb. 11, 2016

Contact: Pet Adoption Center, (636) 949-7387

St. Charles County, Missouri – Please be aware the St. Charles County’s Pet Adoption Center will close to the public on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016. Located at 4850 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, the facility will reopen for adoptions of dogs, cats and other pets at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 20.

The facility, which houses St. Charles County’s Division of Humane Services, is undergoing an expansion as approved through the 2016 County budget. The construction project will increase the space and services available through this popular facility that has placed thousands of pets in loving homes since opening in 1999. Although closed to the public, the animals currently residing inside the shelter will be cared for by staff during this one-day closure.

Humane Services is one of three divisions operated through St. Charles County’s Department of Public Health. The Division of Humane Services shelters and adopts animals, educates pet owners, provides animal control services and investigates instances involving animal cruelty or neglect through the enforcement of St. Charles County’s Animal Control Ordinance. For information about the division or to view pets available through the Pet Adoption Center, please visit http://www.sccmo.org/783/Humane-Division or call (636) 949-7387.
