St. Charles County, Missouri – The St. Charles County Highway Department will re-open the Hopewell Road Bridge at the end of the day on Friday, December 18. A new structure replaces a temporary crossing installed several months ago while the aging bridge was replaced. The Highway Department had closed the temporary crossing on Oct. 12 for the installation of new culverts, pavement and guardrail for the new structure. The Hopewell Road Bridge is approximately 0.5 miles south of Highway N and 0.3 miles north of Diehr Road.
“We would like to thank residents and commuters in this area for their patience and cooperation during the closure. For the next 100 years or so, the new permanent structure should serve everyone well,” said Craig Tajkowski, County Engineer.
The Highway Department will use changeable message boards to inform citizens of the re-opening.
