St. Charles County, Missouri- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that on December 14, 2015, Melech Porter, 18 of St. Louis, was sentenced to 20 years in the Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to murder 2nd, robbery 1st and armed criminal action. He was sentenced to 20 year for the murder 2nd, 20 years for the robbery 1st and 20 years for the armed criminal action. The sentences are to run concurrent.
Charges arose on February 9, 2015 when Porter, along with four other defendants, drove a rental vehicle to an apartment located on Ameristar Boulevard in St. Charles and knowingly robbed and caused the death of Charles S. Dishman by gun shot. The items stolen and the weapon used to kill Mr. Dishman were found in the possession of the suspects.
Co-defendant Wardell Davison, 22 of St. Louis, was sentenced to life on November 30, 2015.
Co-defendants Lamont Ware, 22 of St. Louis and Dennis Baker, 24 of St. Louis, have plead guilty to robbery 1st and will be sentenced on January 4, 2016.
Co-defendant Travon Johnson, 22 of St. Louis, is set for jury trial on February 16, 2016.
