St. Charles County, MIssouri-The office of Prosecuing Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that Michael L. Johnson, 23, was found guilty by jury on May 14, 2015 of one count recklessly infecting another with HIV and four counts of recklessly risking infection of another with HIV. The jury made a sentence recommendation of thirty years on count one, five and a half years on courts three, four and five and fourteen years on count six.
Johnson was diagnosed with HIV while a student at Lindenwood University. Johnson had unprotected sex with several partners and did not tell them of his HIV status. When asked, he communicated to his partners that he was “disease free.” Two of the victim have tested positive for HIV.
The Honorable John Cunningham has ordered a sentencing assessment report (SAR) and will impose a sentence on July 13, 2015.
