St. Charles County, Missouri- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that on May 4, 2015 Peyton Kyle McAnelly, 23, of O’Fallon, was sentenced to life plus 25 years consecutive in the Department of Corrections for the charges of murder 2nd degree, attempted robbery 1st degree and two counts armed criminal action. McAnelly plead guilty to these charges on March 16, 2015.
Charges arose in June of 2012 when McAnelly placed a dating advertisement in Craigslist with the intent to commit a robbery. Once a response was received McAnelly and a co-defendant arranged to meet at the home of a friend. McAnelly, once inside the victim’s vehicle, claimed he left his wallet in the home and asked the victim to pull into the garage. Once inside the garage McAnelly committed the assault. The victim died one week later from the wounds.
The sentence was handed down by the Honorable John Cunningham.
