Posted on: January 7, 2022

[ARCHIVED] UPDATED Jan. 7, 2022 | COVID Booster Vaccinations Available for those Ages 12+

The St. Charles County Department of Public Health is now authorized by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to administer booster doses for COVID vaccine to individuals ages 12 or older who have completed the primary vaccination regimen and meet eligibility requirements.

Individuals are eligible to receive a booster dose if they have:

  • Received one dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months prior and are ages 18 or older.
  • Received two doses of the Moderna vaccine at least six months prior and are ages 18 or older.
  • Received two doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine at least five months prior and are ages 12 or older.

Also authorized this week by DHSS, moderately or severely immunocompromised individuals ages 5-11 are eligible to receive a third dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech Pediatric COVID vaccine 28 days after their second dose.

COVID-19 vaccinations are offered by the Department of Public Health at locations throughout St. Charles County at no charge to recipients. Individuals do not need to receive their booster vaccination at the same location they received their initial dose/doses, but they should bring along their personal COVID vaccination card or a photo copy of the card.

Individuals ages 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the time of the vaccination.

For information on scheduling a vaccination appointment with the Department of Public Health, visit sccmo.org/COVIDvaccine or call St. Charles County’s COVID-19 Hotline at 636-949-1899 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
