St. Charles County, Missouri- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that on March 16, 2015 Petyon Kyle McAnelly, 23, of O’Fallon, plead guilty to murder 2nd degree, attempted robbery 1st degree and two counts armed criminal action.
Charges arouse in June of 2012 when McAnelly placed a dating advertisement in Craigslist with the intent to commit a robbery. Once a response was received McAnelly and a co-defendant arranged to meet the victim at the home of a friend. McAnelly, once in the victim’s vehicle, McAnelly claimed he left his wallet inside the home and asked the victim to pull into the garage so he could retrieve. Once inside the garage McAnelly committed the assault. The victim died one week later from the wounds.
McAnelly is set for sentencing on May 4, 2015 in front of the Honorable John Cunningham.
