[ARCHIVED] Buchanan Sentenced to 40 years for Statutory Sodomy and Child Molestation

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MISSOURI- The Office of Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announces that Myron F. Buchanan, 40, of St. Charles, who was found guilty by a jury in September was sentenced to 40 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Buchanan was sentenced to 30 years for statutory sodomy 1st. The sentence for this charge requires Buchanan to serve eighty-five percent before being eligible for parole. He was also sentenced to 10 years for the child molestation 1st and one year for the furnishing pornographic material. Counts one and two are consecutive and court three is to run concurrent to counts one and two. Buchanan is subject to mandatory lifetime supervision and sex offender registration.

Charges arose in November 2013 when Buchanan victimized a child under the age of 14 while babysitting in his home in St. Charles County.

Sentencing was in front of the Honorable Nancy Schneider.
