St. Charles County, Missouri – The health, safety and well-being of the community is a top priority to the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department. In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), effective at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, the Parks Department will continue to suspend park programs and will close the following facilities and amenities until further notice:
- Indoor Meeting Facilities
- Playgrounds
- Dog Parks
- Drinking Fountains
- Restrooms
- Campsites and Cabin Rentals
- Shelters
- The gift shop and tours at The Historic Daniel Boone Home
- The Youth Activity Park
- The Heritage Museum
Park open spaces; natural, paved and multi-use trails for hiking, biking and equestrian use; fishing lakes and disc golf courses will remain open. Parks are open daily from 7 a.m. until 30 minutes past sunset; guests visiting are encouraged to practice proper social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus.
Parks staff will be contacting guests who have camping and shelter reservations affected by these closures.
