St. Charles County, Missouri – From bluegrass and old-time, to folk and blues, if you're a music lover, or just want to learn more about the history of music, then Traditional Music Day is for you! Sit back and enjoy a collection of traditional tunes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at The Historic Daniel Boone Home, 1868 Highway F in Defiance.

This free one-of-a-kind musical experience gets your toes tapping and hips swaying as musicians from KDHX Folk School and other artists from throughout the area play music from different genres and eras on the fiddle, banjo, guitar and other instruments. You’ll hear traditional sounds of today and songs of yesteryear.

During the event, guests are welcome to explore the various historic village buildings while groups of the talented musicians play inside and on the porches. Guided tours of The Historic Daniel Boone Home will also be available throughout the day with paid admission – adults, $8; seniors 60 and over, $6; child age 5–12, $5; active/retired military and children 4 and under are free.

Registration is not required. For more information, call The Historic Daniel Boone Home at 636-798-2005.
