ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MISSOURI- THE OFFICE OF PROSECUTING ATTORNEY TIM LOHMAR announces that Joseph Dominic Meyers, 47, of Hazelwood, MO plead guilty to attempted robbery 1st degree and was sentenced to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by the Honorable Jon Cunningham.
Charges arose on June 16 of this year when the defendant entered the Bank of America located on Fifth Street in St. Charles and announced he had a bomb in the building and demanded the teller to place money in an envelope he provided. The teller was able to activate the silent alarm and notify co-workers.
At the time of his arrest, Meyers, was under the supervision of Missouri Probation and Parole for an armed robbery he committed in St. Louis County in 1999.
