St. Charles County, Missouri – Extreme sports enthusiasts across Missouri and surrounding states will come together to celebrate national Go Skateboarding Day from noon–5 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at the Youth Activity Park (YAP) in Dardenne Prairie. The YAP is the Midwest’s largest public outdoor skate park!
Join the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department to celebrate everything skateboarding, including competitions, demonstrations and product giveaways provided by Wood and Wheels Skate Shop and Refine Skateboard Co. Admission to the park is free for everyone! Spectators of all ages and anyone with a skateboard, roller blades, BMX bike or scooter are encouraged to attend.
Over the years, this special event has quickly developed into one of the region’s largest national Go Skateboarding Day celebrations. The extreme contests and activities that happen throughout the day are exciting to watch and attract youth and adults from across the state of Missouri and surrounding states.
Designed to provide a safe place for area youth to enjoy an assortment of alternative recreational opportunities, our 33,000 square-foot state-of-the-art skate/bike course has nighttime lighting; beginner, intermediate and advanced bowls with several roll-in features; a street course with trick rails; a snake run scattered with ramps, gaps, hubbas and more!
