CAPRESE KABOBS


Our July Healthy Eats recipe invites you to enjoy summer on a stick! This easy-to-assemble snack combines the creamy smoothness of mozzarella with sweet tomatoes and the kick of fresh basil. Mangia!

INGREDIENTS
3/4 ounce, fresh mozzarella cheese (3 small, round balls)
3 fresh basil leaves
3 cherry tomatoes
1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sea salt (if desired)
1 Bamboo skewer


STEPS
  1. Place tomato, basil, and then cheese (in that order) onto the skewer. Repeat using this order to fill the skewer.
  2. Place assembled skewer on a plate. Drizzle olive oil over all the items. Sprinkle on salt, if you desire.

NUTRITIONAL CONTENT
Recipe makes one skewer. Each skewer contains:

110 calories
4 grams protein
2 grams carbohydrates
9 grams fat
320 milligrams sodium
1 gram fiber
