As a coach, it goes without saying that I love sports. I know many of you do, too. As your Council member, I encourage you and your family and friends to check out the sporting events at the Family Arena. You can have a great night out, close to home, at an affordable price while supporting our community.
Following is a breakdown of what’s ahead for football, basketball and soccer at the Arena. For information on tickets, links to team websites, and updates on future events, visit http://www.familyarena.com/. Remember - tickets to many of the games for these teams start in the $10-20 range!
- The St. Louis Attack X-League Football returns to the Family Arena on April 4 for its third season of indoor football. Sports legends Isaac Bruce and Jackie Joyner-Kersee are even making special appearances on opening night. The Attack will play four home games during their April/May season, so make plans if you’re a football fan.
- March Madness, aka basketball season at the Family Arena, is quickly wrapping up. The St. Louis Riversharks and the Gateway Steam basketball teams had their inaugural season this year. Members of the Midwest Professional Basketball Association, both teams are completing their schedules at the end of March/early April – in fact, if you want to check out a game, buy tickets fast because there are only two home games left on March 28 and 29. The Family Arena also just hosted the Great Lakes Valley Conference, featuring top men’s and women’s NCAA Division II basketball teams, as well as the Missouri Valley Conference, which featured top women’s NCAA Division I teams from the Midwest. The Great Lakes Valley Conference will return in 2016, so remember to come back to the Arena’s website for dates and ticket information.
- The St. Louis Ambush indoor soccer team wrapped up its 2014/2015 season on Feb. 21 with a win against the Tacoma Stars. The Major Indoor Soccer League team will return for its third season this fall – stay tuned for their 2015/2016 schedule.
