Volunteering
Want to be a part of a growing regional parks system and help build a legacy? Then join the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department’s volunteer efforts! Volunteering with the Parks Department is an integral part of the development and beautification of our parks. Volunteers complement the Department’s staff as we strive to enhance our mission. Regardless of experience or skills, volunteer opportunities are available on an individual basis or part of a group. These individuals, groups, and businesses provide many services that maintain and improve our parks throughout the year.
Before you may begin volunteering, please fill out, sign, and return the fillable volunteer enrollment and agreement forms (PDF). When the forms are completed, hit “email form” at the bottom and it will automatically be emailed to us. If you don’t have email, you may bring the forms to our Parks Administrative Office, located at 201 N. Second St., Suite 510, St. Charles, MO 63301, or scan and fax the documents to 636-949-7538. As soon as we receive your paperwork, a background check will be processed. As soon as the background check is completed, Parks Department staff will contact you.

Trail Work
The Parks Department schedules periodic maintenance work days to keep our natural trails in pristine condition throughout the year.
Help us by removing downed trees, leveling worn paths, and removing barriers at a park near you. Prior experience is not necessary, as you’ll receive instruction on proper use and safety and be led by experienced supervisors.
This is a great team-building service project for groups and businesses and offers an opportunity for individuals to become better acquainted with hiking, biking, and horse enthusiasts throughout the county.
For information on scheduling a work day for your group or to learn more about upcoming activities, please call the Parks Department at 636-949-7535.
Watch Dog Program
The Parks Department is thrilled with the tremendous popularity of our off-leash dog areas. Due to their high use rate, we’re seeking volunteers that can assist us in keeping the facility safe and beautiful for years to come.
These Watch Dog volunteers will dedicate only a few hours each year, while enjoying the facilities with their pets, to help ensure that the posted rules (PDF) are followed and to share information with fellow dog lovers on proper park etiquette, health care, and safety issues. For information on becoming a Watch Dog, please call the St. Charles County Parks Department at 636-949-7535.
