Matt Swanson was elected in November 2022 to represent St. Charles County Council District 1. This district covers the areas north of Interstate 70 from the cities of St. Peters, O’Fallon, St. Paul, Josephville, Flint Hill, Wentzville, Foristell and the unincorporated areas north of Interstate 70.
Matt is a lifelong resident of St. Charles County. He attended Immanuel Lutheran in St. Charles from Kindergarten through eighth grade and graduated from St. Charles High School. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, and from Lindenwood University with a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. He is employed in the Fort Zumwalt School District as an American History educator.
Serving others is a trait instilled in Matt by his parents. He is a member of numerous community organizations and is a strong advocate for the Wentzville Historical Society and the Sons of the American Revolution. You will find Matt at numerous events promoting our county and country.
Prior to being elected to the County Council, Matt was a three-term alderman in the City of Wentzville and served as a member of the Wentzville Parks and Recreation Board. His focus has always been on making our community better, especially when it comes to our roads and parks.
Matt lives in Wentzville with his wife, Jackie. They have two children, Mackenzie and Scott. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors and traveling.
