The project involves the replacement of a deficient steel girder bridge on Augusta Bottom Road over a tributary to the Missouri River, located 0.5 miles east of Emke Road. Proposed improvements include:
New widener structure to provide for 12-foot lanes and 4-foot shoulders.
Realignment to allow old bridge to remain in place while new structure is constructed.
The project is funded by St. Charles County’s ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax and with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Surface Transportation Program-Suballocated (STP-S) funding. The project is estimated to cost approximately $730,000.

Design by Great River Engineering began early in 2022. Construction is scheduled for 2024. The consultant has finished field surveys and submitted Conceptual Plans. They have been reviewed and a single span bridge has been approved. Work now begins on preliminary plans which are due in September 2022.
