This project involves resurfacing Highway N from Motherhead Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive and replacing the pedestrian path on the south side of the roadway with a concrete sidewalk that is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. Additional improvements include:
Installing new pavement markings on Highway N.
Modifying the location of the pedestrian push buttons along the south side of Highway N in front of Francis Howell Central High School.
Reconstructing private and commercial building entrances along Highway N to comply with ADA standards.
The estimated $1.1 million project is funded by the St. Charles County 1/2-cent Transportation Sales Tax, as well as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Bartlett & West is serving as the design engineering consultant.
MoDOT has approved right-of-way plans and has granted the notice to proceed with property acquisition. Upon appraisals/valuations, acquisitions of the easements can begin. Construction would start no sooner then the end of 2021 if acquisition goes well.
