Highway N Improvements

This project involves resurfacing Highway N from Motherhead Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive and replacing the pedestrian path on the south side of the roadway with a concrete sidewalk that is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. Additional improvements include:

  • Installing new pavement markings on Highway N.
  • Modifying the location of the pedestrian push buttons along the south side of Highway N in front of Francis Howell Central High School.
  • Reconstructing private and commercial building entrances along Highway N to comply with ADA standards.

The estimated $1.1 million project is funded by the St. Charles County 1/2-cent Transportation Sales Tax, as well as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Bartlett & West is serving as the design engineering consultant.

Current Phase

MoDOT has approved right-of-way plans and granted the notice to proceed with property acquisition. Acquisition of the easements is nearly complete. Final plans are also almost done. The project could be advertised for construction before the end of 2021 if MoDOT approves the plans and acquisition is completed quickly.
