This project involves the realignment of the intersection of Route Z and Route N. Proposed improvements include:
- New realigned intersection of Route Z and Route N.
- New signal to be installed at new realigned intersection.
- Widen road for separate left and right turn lanes in all directions.
The project is funded by St. Charles County’s ½-cent Transportation Sales Tax and with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement Program funding. The engineering design consultant is HR Green, Inc. The project is estimated to cost approximately $8.1M.

Current Phase
Right-of-Way is clear and the Final Plans have been approved by MoDOT. Project was advertised for bids on September 20th and a bid opening held on October 13th. The low bidder, Gershenson Construction, had their bid approved at the October 31st Council meeting. A Notice to Proceed will follow in a few weeks. While work should start soon, it will be mostly clearing work and utility relocations over the first few months.
