Our self-serve watercraft stations with reservable kayaks and stand-up paddleboards will open for public use on Wednesday, April 1 at Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance, Klondike Park in Augusta and The Park at New Melle Lakes in New Melle. Guests must reserve a watercraft in advance through the rental link below; rentals will be available on the hour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., April through October. The rentals come with paddles and life jackets to ensure a safe and fun time on the lake. If you are interested in trying your hand at kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding for free, join us from 1 - 5 p.m. at our PaddleShare Demo Day, Sunday, April 5 at Broemmelsiek Park.
Equipment must be returned and secured 5 minutes prior to end of rental window to avoid late fees.
Personal flotation device and paddles must be secured inside the kayak and strapped in the mesh on top of the paddleboard when returned; the fin of the paddleboard must be removed and stored in the side door compartment of the unit.
In severe weather, leave the water and return equipment to the unit immediately.
If you have any questions or have problems with the equipment, call the Park Ranger on duty at 314-713-4394.
