Our self-serve watercraft stations with reservable kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are open for public use from April 1 - Oct. 31 at Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance, Klondike Park in Augusta and The Park at New Melle Lakes in New Melle. Guests must rent a watercraft in advance through the rental link below. Rentals are available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily, for two-hour sessions. Each watercraft comes with paddles and life jackets to ensure a safe and fun time on the lake.
In addition Riverside Landing Park has kayaks available to rent to take advantage of St. Charles County's Dardenne Creek Blueway. These rentals are available 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m., daily.
Equipment must be returned and secured 5 minutes prior to end of rental window to avoid late fees.
When using the Dardenne Creek Blueway please know the river currents and levels before going.
Kayaks are not for use on the Mississippi River or Missouri River.
Personal flotation device and paddles must be secured inside the kayak and strapped in the mesh on top of the paddleboard when returned; the fin of the paddleboard must be removed and stored in the side door compartment of the unit.
In severe weather, leave the water and return equipment to the unit immediately.
