Watercraft Rentals Available May 18, 2020!


Our self-serve watercraft stations with reservable kayaks and stand-up paddleboards will open for public use on Monday, May 18 at Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance, Klondike Park in Augusta and The Park at New Melle Lakes in New Melle. Guests must reserve a watercraft in advance through the rental link below; rentals will be available on the hour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., April through October. The rentals come with paddles and life jackets to ensure a safe and fun time on the lake.

Rules:

  • Wear personal flotation device at all times.
  • Equipment must be returned and secured 5 minutes prior to end of rental window to avoid late fees. 
  • Personal flotation device and paddles must be secured inside the kayak and strapped in the mesh on top of the paddleboard when returned; the fin of the paddleboard must be removed and stored in the side door compartment of the unit.
  • In severe weather, leave the water and return equipment to the unit immediately.
  • If you have any questions or have problems with the equipment, call the Park Ranger on duty at 314-713-4394.

Rental Costs and Weight Limits:

  • $10 per hour, per stand-up paddleboard; 350-pound limit 
  • $10 per hour, per kayak; 350-pound limit
  • $15 per hour, per tandem kayak; 600-pound limit
