Why Track Your Baby’s Growth?
Measuring a baby’s length, weight and head circumference can offer a general guide to assess his or her growth. While every child develops at his or her own pace and parents should not be concerned with the percentile rating, tracking these measurements and recording a progressive growth can help doctors and parents detect and address any feeding, developmental or medical issues.
If parents have questions related to their child’s growth chart, WIC staff encourages them to speak with the child’s pediatrician.
