St. Charles County, Missouri – Learn arts and crafts of the frontier with accomplished blacksmiths during this year’s final St. Charles County Park’s Artisan in Residence program. The event is from
9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at The Historic Boone Home near Defiance. Admission is free.

Skilled craftsmen Jayson Griffith and Joe Diolosa will be working side by side in the forge, demonstrating the tools of the trade. Guests can try their hand at blacksmithing by hammering and bending metals on the anvil. After the demonstrations, shop for a variety of blacksmithing items in the park’s gift shop.

Guided tours of The Historic Daniel Boone Home are offered at the top of every hour - tickets for adults are $8, seniors $6, children ages 5-12 are $5, and active/retired military and children under 4 are free. There’s no charge for self-guided tours of the village grounds.
