Discover Something New and Fun at a St. Charles County Park Summer Camp

St. Charles County, Missouri – Are you looking for a unique, affordable camp for your children this summer? The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department has a variety of exciting summer camps scheduled at a park near you! Whether it’s a single-night campout, a day-long adventure or week-long camp for exploring nature, fishing, extreme sports or history, there are summer programs for children of all ages and interests.

“Our summer camps tap into a child’s innermost fun,” says St. Charles County Parks Director Bettie Yahn-Kramer. “Once a child gets to experience one of our diverse camps, they want come back every year for more adventures!”

Join us for these exciting summer camps that are scheduled in a St. Charles County Park this summer:

• Boone Home Summer Camp, June 5 – 9, at The Historic Daniel Boone Home near Defiance: Send your child to our frontier day camp to see what they can discover! Kids ages 11-18 learn bartering and trading at the general store, tomahawk throwing, splash in the Femme Osage Creek, build a log cabin, try their hand at woodworking and carpentry, dance to fiddle music and discover much more! Cost is $150 per child; a camp T-shirt is included.

• Nature Day Camp, June 5 – 9, at Indian Camp Creek Park near Wentzville and July 10 – 14 at Quail Ridge Park near Wentzville: Fully explore the outdoors during this week-long nature camp! Designed for youth ages 9-13, this full-day program allows day campers to discover and observe nature using hands-on experimental activities in a safe environment. Campers use sensory awareness and science to interact with their environment. Campers meet daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine! An overnight stay in the park is planned for June 8. Cost is $100 per week.

• Fish University 101, June 7 – 8, at Quail Ridge Park near Wentzville: This unique camp teaches the sport of fishing to wanna-be anglers ages 8-15. Held from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., it’s perfect for beginners and intermediates who want to learn more about fishing. Participants learn and use a variety of fishing techniques in the park’s ponds, lakes and streams. The camp is sponsored by Cabela’s and St. Charles Jaycees. Lunch is included. Cost is $30 for both days.

• Park Explorer Kids Club, June 12 – 16, at Quail Ridge Park near Wentzville and July 17 – 21, at Broemmelsiek Park near Wentzville: Discover nature and the outdoors during our Park Explorer Kids Club at two different parks this year! This week-long nature camp allows kids ages 7-11 to learn about the environment, prairies, trails, and waterways through nature-themed games, crafts, activities, and special friends of the park. Explorers meet from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. daily. Lunch is served on Friday. Cost is $45 per session.

• Camp YAP, June 12 – 16, 26 – 30, July 10 – 14 and July 24 – 28, at the Youth Activity Park near Dardenne Prairie: Sign up for Camp YAP, a new summer camp for children ages 6-12 at the Youth Activity Park. Bring your lunch and we’ll provide the fun from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Camp activities include sports, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, special guests, snacks and a movie! Register for one week or all four (June 12 - 16, June 26 - 30, July 10 - 14 and July 24 - 28). Cost of the program is $110 per week and includes a T-shirt, water bottle and an ice cream sundae bar on Friday. Cost is $110 per week.

• History Explorer Kids Camp, July 10 – 14, at Heritage Museum near St. Charles: Discover history in fun and exciting ways at this week-long history summer camp! This half-day camp engages children ages 6 -14 with local history experiences using historic-themed activities, challenges and crafts each day. History explorers meet daily from 9 a.m. - noon. Cost is $40 per week.

• Fish University 102, July 12, at Quail Ridge Park near Wentzville: This unique camp teaches the sport of fishing to wanna-be anglers ages 8-15. Held from 8 a.m. - noon, it’s perfect for beginners and intermediates who want to learn more about panfishing. Participants learn and use a variety of fishing techniques in the park’s ponds, lakes and streams. Camp staff will assist children as needed. The camp is sponsored by Cabela’s and the St. Charles Jaycees. Cost is $10.

• Fish University 103, July 19, at Broemmelsiek Park near Wentzville: This unique camp teaches the sport of fishing to wanna-be anglers ages 8-15. Held from 8 a.m. - noon, it’s perfect for beginners and intermediates who want to learn more about fishing. Expand your fishing knowledge and learn how to bass fish. Camp staff will assist children as needed. The camp is sponsored by Cabela’s and the St. Charles Jaycees. Cost is $10.

• Fish University 104, July 26, at Broemmelsiek Park near Wentzville: This unique camp teaches the sport of fishing to wanna-be anglers ages 8-15. Held from 5 - 10 p.m., it’s perfect for beginners and intermediates who want to learn more about fishing. Expand your fishing knowledge and learn about catfishing. Camp staff will assist children as needed. The camp is sponsored by Cabela’s and the St. Charles Jaycees. Cost is $10.
